Gregory G Leavitt

Gregory G. Leavitt, shareholder of Harshman McBee & Leavitt P.C., focuses his practice in the areas of personal injury.  Born in Moab, Utah, he is a graduate of the University of Phoenix (B.S., Business Administration, 2003) and the Thomas M. Cooley Law School (J.D., 2006) where he worked with the Sixty Plus Elderlaw Clinic and the Ann Arbor Public Defenders Clinic. He served in the Utah Army National Guard from 1989 to 1997.

From 2006 to present he has handled client cases from intake to trial, litigated hundreds of civil cases involving personal injury, contract disputes, wrongful death, insurance disputes, premises liability, taken hundreds of depositions and tried civil cases to jury verdict.

Mr. Leavitt has drafted and argued extensive substantive motions, motions in limine, regarding complex areas of law to include but not limited to corporate officer liability, manufacturing/engineering schematics, validity of waivers in tort cases, validity and existence of wills, double jeopardy, Daubert and Shrek challenges, applicability of various civil jury instructions, fraudulent transfer issues related to assets sales and stock exchanges to name a few.  Successfully recovered millions of dollars on behalf of clients over the last 13 years.

Litigated several substantial pro bono cases to include complex legal issues regarding insanity and homeowner’s policy of insurance when State Farm refused to pay for fire damage, for mother of three, when husband suffered serious mental illness and caused the home to burn down.  The result of that case was home was rebuilt, and family relocated into home prior to Christmas.

In another pro bono case, filed suit on behalf of a grandmother in a complex legal matter pertaining to an area of law not previously considered by courts or other practitioners; successfully procuring the burial rights of grandmother’s two grandsons after the young boys tragically died while in the care and custody of their mother who was engaged in sexual and drug related activities leaving her children unattended.
